Resin and Metal Jewellery Care
Chains
The chains I prefer to use are Copper chains plated with Silver. These allow the look. feel and style of a silver chain but at a more affordable price for our customers.

I found these first when looking for a replacement for a pendant of my own. After trial and error with some more expensive, more fragile or unmanageable chains I realized this one was exactly what I wanted.

Colour: Silver
Length: 24"
Weight: 60g
Tarnishing
All silver and silver plated jewellery will eventually tarnish. Water, moisture and the oils on our skin can do this quickly, dulling and ruining the shine and lustre.
Each pendant is provided with a small silver polishing cloth and small velvet pouch to store your pendant.
Before packaging each chain is polished with a silver cloth in a gloved environment to reduce any tarnishing that might occur in a hand-made item.

Cleaning your chain after each use will help remove or prevent tarnishing.

Please avoid getting the chain wet and if this occurs, clean and dry the chain before storage.

Resin
When I started making pendants I was initially thinking about sea glass. I experimented with resin pouring and realized that I could achieve a frosted, almost sea-glass style look through a combination of different sanding and brushing.

This makes these pendants interesting to care for... when brushed resin gets wet it becomes translucent and the cloudy exterior disappears!

This is temporary however and once dry the cloudy, frosted appearance will return.

If your pendant gets wet simply dry with clean tissue or lint-free cloth and leave to air dry. The appearance will return once fully dry.
If your pendant begins to get oily as a result of natural transfer from the skin you may start to see this on the surface of the pendant. You can resolve this by gently cleaning with a soft cloth
Resin yellowing?
In some cases you will see people referring to "yellowing" with resin. Some resins can, over time and with exposure to some elements, begin to yellow and change colour.

The resin we use is a fast curing UV resin which is also "anti-yellowing" as noted by the manufacturer.

We do advise removing your jewellery before coming into contact with harsh chemicals such as chlorine in swimming pools or when using sunbeds in order to maintain the life of the resin.
Other materials
Any variety of materials might be used in our pendants based on trial and error, experimentation and mood when creating.

Materials like glitter, large glitter flakes, leaves and gold leaf are in many of these, however other more unusual elements may also appear (look for hand picked petals, coloured metal balls, tiny metal cogs and fabric strands)

All materials are skin safe and colour safe in the resin.

The unique nature of these materials means that even when used in more than one pendant you will never see the same pattern or exact design repeated.

In some cases only one pendant will be made if a small amount of the material is available.

If in doubt about the contents of a pendant for sale, reach out via Etsy or by email and ask.
Ethical sourcing?
Wastage, sourcing and un-necessary manufacture means a lot to us. When possible the materials used in our pendants are found, re-used from other hobbies, bought locally and in some cases rescued from other hobby craft

An example of this is the mother of pear type materials you will see in some of the pendants. This was rescued as a single sheet left over from a guitar material supplier. Rather than end up in a waste bin, we gave it a second home. Once gone this wont be replaced.

Making single pendants means we limit the wastage during manufacture, but obviously we see defects? Yes. Some of these we accept. Minor, tiny bubbles can add to the beauty and uniqueness of a pendant, we don't wate these.

If something does go wrong we keep failed, broken or spoiled pendants. Silverware is reclaimed and reused while resin is kept, saved up and in the right case crushed up and used as inclusions in new pendants, creating new unique items.

No Resin, Glitter or other materials are placed in the bin, the water-systems or sent to landfill. Every spoiled or wasted pendant not used in another is still in place, saved for some future use.

Waste resin is allowed to cure, sometimes with colour, glitter or tint added, and then broken up for use in future pendant creation.
Fixtures
Of course pendants include other fixtures such as pendant bezels, connectors and clasps.

In the same manner as the chains we use we wanted to embrace both cost as well as appearance and quality.

After trial and error we settled on simple silvered copper pinch clasp These proved both flexible to allow use without breaking and strong enough to put up with the fidgeting and abuse I subject my own necklace wear to.

Occasionally based on the pendant you may see a more elaborate or decorated clasp. This might be because the size of the pendant requires something more sturdy, or the simplicity of the pendant allows for more detail in the clasp.

All materials are listed in each item description.

Packaging
Designing the packaging for our pendants was a trial-and-error labour of love.

What was most important was ensuring that someone buying a pendant had everything they might need to use, keep and love their unique piece.

The big question was "what would I want if I was buying this?"
A sturdy packaging. Something to protect from moisture and air during storage and travel. Something to keep the pendant safe and to keep its longevity over time.

So each pendant is sent on a sturdy small card and wrapped in a tiny bag to protect from the elements and provide some protection during postage.
Each is sent with a tiny storage pouch, in a colour picked to compliment the pendant (because we hand make with such love, why wouldn't we?)
And finally, to ensure your pendant lasts a long time we include a tiny silver cleaning cloth to live with your pendant.
Postage
Unless otherwise stated, all pendants are shipped within the UK in small bubble padded envelopes.
These are the right size to fit though a standard mailbox so no need to be home for delivery.

All sales are currently via Etsy or any other noted online seller and postage details will be managed via those vendors following standard postage and packing guidance.

Unfortunately shipping is currently only within the UK while we look at how to reduce international postage costs.
